Certification of the Tewksbury, Massachusetts facility’s Quality Management System underscores Sterling’s commitment to consistent, quality-focused temperature-controlled storage and distribution for the life science industry.
TEWKSBURY, MA — August 26, 2026 — Sterling Life Science Logistics announced today that the Quality Management System at its Tewksbury, Massachusetts facility has been certified to ISO 9001:2015 by NSF-ISR, an NSF company
The certification applies to Sterling Life Science Logistics’ facility at 159 Lorum Street in Tewksbury and covers the scope of temperature-controlled storage and distribution for health care, life sciences and biopharmaceutical industries.
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized quality management system standard focused on consistent processes, customer requirements, continuous improvement and effective quality management.
For life science organizations, where consistency, documentation and control are particularly important, working with a logistics provider operating under an ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System can provide greater confidence in the processes supporting the storage and distribution of sensitive materials. The standard emphasizes documented procedures, clearly defined responsibilities, performance monitoring, corrective action and continuous improvement—all of which support a disciplined and repeatable approach to quality management.
“Achieving ISO 9001 certification is an important milestone for Sterling Life Science Logistics and reflects our team’s commitment to embedding quality and continuous improvement into everything we do,” said Dan Markow, President and CEO of The Markow Companies. “Our customers entrust us with materials that can be highly valuable, sensitive and critical to their operations. This certification provides independent validation of the quality management system we have established to support that responsibility.”
The certification follows the continued development of Sterling Life Science Logistics’ purpose-built Tewksbury operation, which provides temperature-controlled storage and logistics solutions for organizations throughout the life science and health care sectors.
“This certification represents much more than completing an audit,” said Jonathan Vargas, Director of Sterling Life Science Logistics. “It reflects the systems, procedures and quality culture we have built into our operation. As we continue to grow, those systems give us a strong foundation for delivering the consistency and reliability our life science customers expect.”
Sterling Life Science Logistics’ Quality Management System was assessed by NSF-ISR and found to be in conformance with ISO 9001:2015. Certificate C0851901-IS1 was issued August 26, 2026, and covers the certified Tewksbury location and scope described above.
